2006 was an odd year for the Yukon Quest. Lack of snow to the south forced the race to run to Pelly Crossing and back to Dawson turning this rough shack at Scroggie Creek into the last checkpoint where mushers must serve a mandatory 8hour layover. Here the three front runners Lance Mackey, William Kleedehn and Hans Gatt eye each other.
